Logging in to your Uphold account from a desktop or laptop browser is a quick process — but Uphold's extra security measures (mobile approval and two-factor authentication) are there to protect your funds and sensitive data. This guide walks through the full web login flow, describes the trusted-mobile requirement, and lists practical troubleshooting tips to avoid common hiccups.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the email address associated with your Uphold account and a working internet connection. Because Uphold uses a trusted mobile device approval for web access, you'll also need nearby access to the Uphold mobile app (or the phone number used for SMS codes) to complete the authentication step.
Step-by-step web login
- Open the official Uphold website. In your browser, navigate to https://uphold.com and click the Log in button. Always verify the site URL and SSL lock in the address bar before entering credentials.
- Enter your email address. Type the exact email you used to register. If you’re unsure which email you used, check any transaction confirmation emails or receipts from Uphold to confirm.
- Approve from your mobile device. If your account is protected with mobile approval, Uphold will send a push notification to the Uphold mobile app on your trusted device. Open the app and confirm the login request.
- Complete Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA). If 2FA is enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter a code from your authenticator app or SMS. Input the code within the time window provided.
- Access your dashboard. After approval and any additional checks, you’ll be logged into the Uphold web dashboard and can view balances, send assets, and manage settings.
Trusted device notes
Uphold’s web login flow often requires approval from a previously registered mobile device. This design prevents unauthorized access from unknown machines. If you no longer have access to your trusted mobile device, continue to the troubleshooting section that follows for recovery paths.
